Deuxième journée des matchs retour de cette saison.
Comme lors des matchs allers, nous rejouons contre les 2 grosses écuries de notre poule. Après Aix-en-Provence, place à Chambly, le champion de France en titre. Nous nous rendons donc en Picardie pour affronter cette belle équipe composée de joueuses et joueurs de classe internationale comme Marcus Ellis, médaille de bronze aux JO de Rio en 2016 ou encore Lauren Smith.
Bref, la tâche s’annonce compliquée. Ce n’est pas sans compter sur la vaillance de notre équipe, qui arrive dans ces terres du nord pleine d’ambition.
Today is the second day of the second leg of this season. As in the first leg, we play against the big 2 stables of our pool. After Aix en Provence, it is time to play Chambly, National champion in title.
We are going to Picardy to face this great team made up of world-class players like Marcus Ellis, bronze medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 or Lauren Smith. In short, the task was going to be complicated but it is without counting on the bravery of our team that arrived in these lands of the North full of ambition.
La rencontre débute par les 2 simples dames. Lilian joue contre la championne de France en titre Léonice Huet et Lauren joue contre la redoutable joueuse espagnole Beatriz Corrales.
Lilian est en petite forme, elle fête ce samedi ses 26 ans, mais elle arrive à dominer Léonice assez facilement pour gagner en 2 sets.
Lauren gagne aussi son match après la blessure de Beatriz, qui pourtant menait au score ! Bon rétablissement à toi Beatriz (Buena recuperacion para ti Beatriz)
Nous ne pouvions pas espérer mieux comme début de rencontre avec comme objectif d’aller chercher au minimum le point défensif. Nous menons 2 à 0.
Mais malgré les gros efforts de notre joueuses et joueurs, nous n’avons pas su concrétiser cette magnifique entame de rencontre. Nous restons donc à 2 matchs gagnés et encore une fois n’obtenons pas le point défensif apporté par une 3e match gagné.
Pourtant 2 matchs très serrés auraient pu nous apporter ce 3e point voire un match nul. Je parle du double dames de Delphine et Lauren face à Soraya De Visch Eijbergen et Lorraine Baumann, qui perdent ce match au 3ee set 21/17 ainsi que du double mixte 1 composé de Delphine et Gregor contre Marcus Ellis et Soraya.
The match started with the 2 Women's Singles: Lilian playing against the reigning French champion Léonice Huet and Lauren against the formidable Spanish player Beatriz Corrales.
Lilian – who celebrated her 26thbirthday this Saturday – in a small form, managed to dominate Léonice quite easily to win in 2 sets.
Lauren also won her match after Beatriz's injury, who was leading to the score! Get well soon Beatriz! (Buena recuperacion para ti Beatriz)
We could not hope better as the beginning of the match with the objective of getting the defensive point at least. We lead 2 to 0.
Despite the great efforts of our players, we did not take advantage of this wonderful meeting start. So we stayed at 2 games won and again we do not get the defensive point brought by a 3rd match won.
Yet 2 very tight matches could have brought us this 3rd point or even a draw. I'm talking about the Women’s Doubles composed of Delphine and Lauren against Soraya De Visch Eijbergen and Lorraine Baumann who lost this match in the 3rd set 21/17 and the Mixed Doubles 1 composed of Delphine and Grégor against Marcus Ellis and Soraya.
Nous remportons donc un seul point qui nous positionne à la dernière place du championnat. Ceci dit, 2 de nos 3 prochaines rencontres se jouent à domicile contre des équipes plus à notre portée normalement. Notre team aura donc besoin de vos encouragements pour atteindre son objectif de se maintenir en Top 12.
Je tiens à remercier notre public fidèle qui a été nombreux à faire le déplacement. Nous étions à peine moins nombreux que les spectateurs locaux à Chambly.

Nous vous attendons nombreux le 23 février à domicile contre le club de Mulhouse. Les joueurs vont en avoir besoin en cette fin de saison.

However, 2 of our next 3 games are played at home against teams that are normally more reachable. Our team will need your encouragement to achieve its goal of staying in TOP 12
