Cela fait du bien de gagner ☺
Pour cette 3e journée, nous allons en Alsace plus précisément à Mulhouse. Avant cette rencontre, le club de Mulhouse était juste devant nous au classement général.
À l’issue de cette rencontre, nous passons devant ☺ FORMIDABLE !
Contexte particulier pour les deux clubs, il manquait pour Mulhouse Arnaud Merkle (Double Champion d’Europe Junior en Simple Homme et par équipe) et Kenji Lovang (Membre de l’équipe de France Junior et donc Champion d’Europe par équipe) et pour nous Fabien Delrue (Triple Champion d’Europe Junior/Double Homme/Double Mixte et par équipe)
En effet, nos 3 « jeunes » sont aux championnats du monde au Canada. Les aléas du calendrier de nos interclubs !
Pour autant, même avec un effectif incomplet, Mulhouse a des joueuses et joueurs de grande qualité avec dans son groupe Thom Gicquel, partenaire de notre Delphine Delrue en Double Mixte, un joueur Indonésien qui a fait partie de l’équipe nationale d’Indonésie durant 2 ans et quand on connaît le niveau de ces joueurs, on peut se méfier, plus des joueuses russes et une hollandaise de très bon niveau.
Bref, sur le papier, nous ne partons pas forcément favori, en l’absence de Fabien. Il faut aussi ajouter que les classements des joueuses de Mulhouse ne correspondent pas vraiment à leur niveau. La rencontre débute par le Double Dame et le Simple Homme 1. Ces deux matchs donnent le ton de la rencontre et seront déterminants dans la victoire finale.
En effet, Delphine Delrue et Lauren Meheust jouent contre Irina Khlebko, associée à Tatjana Bibik. Un match tendu jusqu’à la fin, dans lequel nos filles n’arrivent pas à maintenir régulièrement un niveau jeu suffisant pour creuser un écart circonstanciel dans chaque set. Certainement dû au style du jeu de nos adversaires du jour.
Pendant ce double, qui se conclura par une victoire importante pour nous, Yuhan Tan est confronté au joueur indonésien. Un bon 1erset pour Yuhan mais Setyaldi Putra Wibowo finit ce set plus fort et le gagne. Après un passage à vide de Yuhan au début du second set, notre chirurgien (profession de Yuhan) joue avec plus de précision et remporte ce match capital avec brio. Cela fait très plaisir de voir notre Yuhan jouer à ce niveau.
L’USEE mène 2 à 0. Entame de match idéale !
Suivent le Simple Homme 2 puis le Simple Dame 1.
Comme souvent, Li Lian Yang ne reste pas bien longtemps sur le cours et expédie son match de simple contre Jana Ciznarova.
3 à 0 pour nous
Pour Tanguy Citron, après un début de match tambour battant qui lui permet de gagner facilement le 1erset contre Maxime Ziegler, c’est une autre paire de manches. Dans le second set, Tanguy est mené tout le set jusqu’à avoir un volant de set contre lui, il s’impose finalement sur le fil.
4 à 0 pour l’USEE
Il reste des matchs très compliqués à jouer et il nous manque encore 1 point pour la victoire. Ce point va vite arriver. Les matchs suivants sont le Double Mixte 1 et le Simple Dame 2.
Notre double mixte est composé de Delphine Delrue et Grégor Dunikowski face à Irina Khlebko et Thom Gicquel. L’entame de match de nos joueurs est très bonne et efficace pour mener de quelques points. C’est à 18-16 pour nous que Gregor fait une fixation qui provoque malheureusement une entorse du genou d’Irina. Nous gagnons donc notre 5e point sur blessure. Cela n’enlève rien à la performance de ce match et de la rencontre. Nous souhaitons un prompt rétablissement à Irina qui a pu bénéficier du diagnostic de notre médecin chirurgien spécialiste des articulations, j’ai nommé Yuhan Tan !
5 à 0 pour l’USEE
Victoire en poche, Lauren se bat comme une diablesse face à une joueuse Hollandaise qui a été très forte, Patty Stolzenbach. Certainement émoussée par le double dame précédent, Lauren n’arrive pas à trouver l’énergie pour aller chercher ce sixième point pour nous.
5 à 1 pour Ezanville-Ecouen
Il reste alors 2 matchs
Le Double Mixte 2 est composé pour nous de Li Lian et Tanguy contre Tatjana et Setyaldi. Match très agréable à regarder avec de beaux échanges mais les mulhousiens sont plus forts et plus réguliers
Le Double Homme voit Grégor et Yuhan associés. Ils jouent contre Thom et Maxime. Les garçons ne parviennent pas à ramener ce 6e point qui aurait pu priver Mulhouse du point défensif.
Résultat final 5 à 3 pour l’USEE Badminton
Je suis très satisfait de ce résultat en terre Alsacienne. Qui ne le serait pas ! Cet excellent résultat nous permet de se repositionner plus favorablement dans le championnat et face à nos concurrents directs. FORMIDABLE !
Je tiens à remercier le club de Mulhouse de nous avoir accueilli et de nous avoir proposé de dîner avec eux après les matchs. Je voulais aussi remercier Élodie Martin, ex-joueuse du club qui vit maintenant en Alsace d’être venue nous supporter et de nous aider dans notre logistique. Cela fait maintenant 3 saisons que nous voyons Elodie lorsque nous nous déplaçons dans l’Est. Merci à toi !

Before this meeting, Mulhouse club was right before us in the general rankings.
At the end of this meeting, we pass ahead ! ☺ AMAZING!
Special context for the two clubs, Arnaud Merkle (Double European Champion Junior in Men’s Singles and Team) and Kenji Lovang (Member of the French Junior Team and therefore European Champion Team) were missing for Mulhouse and Fabien Delrue (Triple European Champion Junior / Double Men / Mixed Doubles and Team) for us.
Indeed, our 3 « young people » are at the world championships in Canada.

However, even with an incomplete squad, Mulhouse has high quality players with in its group Thom Gicquel, partner of our Delphine Delrue in Mixed Doubles, an Indonesian player who was part of the national team of Indonesia for 2 years – and when we know the level of these players, we can be wary – plus very talented Russian and Dutch players.
In short, on paper, we do not necessarily go favorite, in the absence of Fabien. It should also be added that the rankings of the players of Mulhouse do not really correspond to their level.

After an empty run of Yuhan at the beginning of the second set, our surgeon (profession of Yuhan) plays with more precision and wins this capital match with brio. It is very nice to see our Yuhan play at this level.

As often, Li Lian Yang does not stay long on the court and played an express match against Jana Ciznarova.

For Tanguy Citron, after a bouncy start that allows him to easily win the first set against Maxime Ziegler, the match became a bit harder. In the second set, Tanguy is led all the set and even has a set point against him, he finally wins on the wire.
4 to 0 for the USEE
There are still very complicated games to play and 1 point is still missing for the win.
This point will happen quickly. The next matches are Mixed Double 1 and Singles 2.
Our mixed double 1 is composed of Delphine Delrue and Gregor Dunikowski against Irina Khlebko and Thom Gicquel. The start of the game of our players is very good and effective to lead a few points. It’s 18-16 for us when Gregor makes a fixation that unfortunately causes Irina’s knee sprain. So we won our 5th point on injury. This does not detract from the performance of this match and the meeting.
We wish a speed recovery to Irina who was able to benefit from the diagnosis of our surgeon doctor – joint specialist -, I named Yuhan Tan!

Victory in hands, Lauren fights like a devil against a Dutch player who was very strong, Patty Stolzenbach. Certainly dulled by the previous women double, Lauren can not seem to find the energy to get that sixth point for us.

The Double Man associates Gregor with Yuhan. They play against Thom and Maxime.
The boys fail to bring back this 6th point which could have deprived Mulhouse of the defensive point.
