L’USEE en première classe pour un accueil premium !
Pour cette 1ère journée de championnat en Top12, nous nous déplaçons sur les terres ensoleillés d’Aix-en-Provence, où il fait bon vivre, avec une température de 30 degrés pour le week-end.
Autant vous dire que dans le superbe gymnase du club de l’AUC, la température est élevée.
Je tiens tout d’abord à remercier chaleureusement (c’est le cas de le dire) le club de l’AUC pour son organisation, son accueil royal et son sens du « show » ! Nous avons beaucoup à apprendre ☺. La salle est pleine et les joueurs évoluent sur de beaux tapis en Teraflex !
Félicitations à tous les bénévoles de l’AUC, encadrants et joueurs pour cette superbe fête du badminton.
For this 1st day of championship in Top12, we move on the sunny lands of Aix-en-Provence, where life is good, with a thermometer showing 30 degrees for the weekend. Not a surprise to say that, in the superb gym of the club of the AUC, the temperature is high.
First of all, I would like to warmly (quite good pun!) thank the AUC club for its organization, its royal welcome and its sense of « show »! We have a lot to learn from them. The room is full and the players are playing on beautiful Teraflex floor!
Congratulations to all CUA volunteers, coaches and players for this great badminton celebration.

En l’absence de Victoria Slobodyanuk qui sera probablement longue voire pour toute la saison, Lauren Méheust est présente.
Notre équipe ne déméritera pas face au club d’Aix, habitué à jouer à ce niveau.
Après une présentation des joueurs pour le moins originale avec la mascotte de l’AUC (une abeille), la rencontre débute vers 17h30 avec dans l’ordre : Double Mixte 1 (DM), Double Mixte 2, Simple Homme 1 (SH), Simple Dame 2 (SD), Simple Dame 1, Simple Homme 2, Double Homme (DH) et enfin Double Dame (DD).
Je rappelle que nos rencontres se déroulent au meilleur des 8 matchs dans une parité homme/femme parfaite !
Les premiers matchs lancés sont les deux DM.
Le DM1 est remporté logiquement par l’équipe d’Aix (Anne Tran/Ronan Labar), plus forte que notre paire constituée de Delphine Delrue et Tanguy Citron.
Au même moment, Fabien Delrue et Li Lian Yang ramènent notre premier point avec autorité contre Jillie Cooper et Sylvain Grosjean.

Sont lancés le SH1 et le SD2.
Il s’agit du premier match de notre nouvelle recrue, Yuhan Tan, ex-pensionnaire du club il y a 12 ans, 10 fois champion de Belgique, deux fois qualifié pour les Jeux Olympiques sous les couleurs de son pays.
Yuhan ne démérite pas face un joueur extraordinaire qui est à mes yeux l’un des meilleurs joueurs évoluant dans notre championnat, l’Indonésien Indra Bagus Ade Chandra ! Un match solide où les fins de sets ont été à la faveur d’Indra, qui a été plus serein à ces moments clefs. Nous avons pu apprécier le niveau de jeu de Yuhan qui n’a rien perdu de ses qualités. C’est très prometteur !
Lauren débute son match au même moment face à la sœur de Yuhan, Lilianne Tan, qui joue à Aix depuis plusieurs années, 117e mondiale et qui a déjà été classé 51e ! Lauren se montre très solide et comme d’habitude elle résiste bien pour aller « chatouiller » Lianne. Malheureusement, la joueuse d’Aix parvient à accélérer pour conclure ce match en 2 sets.
3 à 1 pour Aix
Les deux matchs suivants suivent une tournure bien différente.
En effet, Tanguy opposé à Alexandre Françoise ne réussit pas à mettre assez l’Aixois en difficulté et subit les trajectoires parfaites de son adversaire.
Au même moment, Li Lian gagne son 1er set contre la joueuse bulgare Mariya Mitsova (97e mondiale) avec maîtrise (21/13). Elle se fait ensuite mener 15/04 puis 20/13 avant de faire une remontada pour finir par perdre le 2e set 23/21 !
Le 3e set est maîtrisé par Li Lian sans véritablement prendre de l’avance. Puis à 18 partout, un petit coup d’accélérateur de Li Lian permet à notre équipe d’empocher son 2e point.
4 à 2 pour Aix
Restent les 2 doubles (Dames et Hommes)
Malheureusement, pour le Double Homme, le sursaut d’orgueil de nos joueurs (Fabien Delrue et Gregor Dunikowski) au 2e set ne suffit pas pour aller gagner ce point face au fantasque et magnifique joueur Indra Bagus accompagné de Ronan Labar.
De même pour les filles (Delphine et Lauren) qui tombent contre plus fortes qu’elles mais ne déméritent pas car le match est très accroché.
Victoire finale d’Aix 6 à 2
Aix est plus fort mais nous ne sommes pas passé loin du point défensif. Une chose est certaine, nous avons une équipe compétitive et pleine d’envie.

As Victoria Slobodyanuk is absent (and it will probably be for a long time or even the whole season) Lauren Meheust is present.
Our team has nothing to be ashamed of against the club of Aix, used to play at this level.
After a very original presentation of the players, as the AUC had a mascot (a bee), the meeting begins around 17:30 with in order: Mixte Double 1 (MxD), Mixed Double 2, Men Single 1 (MS), Women Single 2 (WS), Women Single 1, Men Single 2, Men Doubles (MD) and finally Women Doubles (WD).
I remind you that our meetings are showing a perfect male / female parity!
The meeting starts with the two MxD.
The MxD1 is logically won by Aix team (Anne Tran / Ronan Labar), stronger than our pair composed of Delphine Delrue and Tanguy Citron.
At the same time, Fabien Delrue and Li Lian Yang bring our first point with authority against Jillie Cooper and Sylvain Grosjean.

Then, MS1 and WS2.
This is the first match for our new recruit, Yuhan Tan, former member of the club (12 years ago), 10 times Belgian champion, twice qualified for the Olympic Games under the colors of his country.
Yuhan has nothing to be ashamed of against an extraordinary player who is, to me, one of the best players in our league, the Indonesian Indra Bagus Ade Chandra!
A solid match where the end of sets were in favor of Indra, who was more serene at these key moments. We could appreciate Yuhan’s game level and he has not lost any of his qualities. It’s very promising!
Lauren started her match at the same time against Yuhan’s sister, Lianne Tan, who has been playing in Aix for several years, ranked 117th world and who has already been ranked 51st!
Lauren is very strong and as usual she resists well to “tickle” Lianne. Unfortunately, the player of Aix manages to accelerate in order to conclude this match in 2 sets.

The next two matches follow a very different twist.
Indeed, Tanguy opposed to Alexandre Françoise failed to put the Aixois in enough trouble and suffered the perfect trajectories of his opponent.
At the same time, Li Lian won his first set against the Bulgarian player Mariya Mitsova (97th World) with a lot of control (21/13). She is then led 15/04 and 20/13 before making a “remontada” to end up losing the 2nd set 23/21!

Unfortunately, for the Men Double, the burst of pride of our players (Fabien Delrue and Gregor Dunikowski) in the 2nd set wass not enough to win this point against the whimsical and magnificent player Indra Bagus accompanied by Ronan Labar.
Same screenplay for the girls (Delphine and Lauren) who played against stronger players than they are but do not looked ridiculous at all because the game is very hooked.
Aix wins by 6 to 2. Aix is stronger but we were not far from the defensive point.
One thing is certain, we have a competitive team, very willing to play well.
Je vous invite à venir les encourager samedi 13 octobre à partir de 16h au gymnase de la Prairie à Ézanville. Nous recevons le club de Chambly, champion de France et d’Europe en titre. Il va y avoir du spectacle !
Je tiens à remercier encore une fois le club d’Aix pour leur parfaite organisation jusqu’au bout de la nuit.
Un gros clin d’œil aux parents venus voir leur enfant, je pense à la maman de Lauren, aux parents de Yuhan (et de Lilianne), aux parents de Tanguy et évidemment aux parents de Delphine et Fabien (Cecile et Hervé).
Merci aussi à mes amis, Nicolas Mascret et Fanny Vieu d’être passés nous saluer et aussi à Emmanuelle Housseau pour sa présence et enfin à Dominique et Cécile pour avoir applaudi les nombreux points gagnés de nos joueuses et joueurs.
