Les journées passent mais elles ne se ressemblent pas !
Après une journée 4 de notre championnat difficile sur les terres d’Oullins, il fallait que notre équipe retrouve sa joie de jouer !
Je ne sais pas si c’est un coup du sort puisque l’équipe de Talence était fort diminuée avec beaucoup d’absences du côté féminin, ou bien le fait de jouer à domicile devant notre public, ou encore l’orgueil de nos joueurs et peut-être la présence de notre double olympien Yuhan, mais dans tous les cas, cette équipe s’est retrouvée sur ses terres ! En effet, une équipe de l’USEE conquérante, joyeuse, victorieuse (clin d’œil à notre Victoria) était bien présente sur nos terrains devant son public.
Il est vrai que la fantastique équipe de Talence nous a simplifié la tache en venant avec 3 joueuses dont une qui ne pouvait absolument pas jouer. Ceci dit, la rencontre était loin d’être gagnée car l’effectif masculin du club de Talence reste fort et redoutable. C’était sans compter sur le fighting spirit de notre équipe et son comportement irréprochable !
Je tiens avant tout à remercier, Hugo Claerbout, capitaine de l’équipe de Talence, qui avant la rencontre est venu voir la JA et moi-même, pour nous préciser qu’une de ses joueuses se présenterait sur le terrain mais ne pourrait pas jouer. Ce comportement fair-play devient rare et je tiens à le mettre en exergue. Chapeau l’ami !
Voici le déroulé de la rencontre face à nos amis girondins. Seuls les simples hommes seront remportés par l’US Talence.
Two days definitely do not look alike !
After a difficult 4th day of championship in Oullins, the team really needed to find a gain its pleasure to play !
I do not know if it is a twist of fate as the team of Talence was very diminished with many absences on the women side, or the fact of playing at home in front of our public, or the pride of our players and perhaps the presence of our double Olympian Yuhan, but in any case, this team ended up on his land! Indeed, a conquering, happy, victorious USEE team (wink to our Victoria) was present on our grounds in front of its audience.
It is true that the fantastic team of Talence simplified the task by coming with 3 players including one who absolutely could not play. That said, the match was far from over because men of the Talence club remains strong and formidable. It was not counting on the fighting spirit of our team and its irreproachable behavior!
First and foremost, I would like to thank Hugo Claerbout, captain of the Talence team, who before the match came to see the JA and myself, to tell us that one of his players would appear on the court but could not to play. This fair play behavior is becoming rare and I want to highlight it. Bow down friend!

La rencontre débute par les deux doubles mixtes.
Il est clair que, compte-tenu de l’effectif de de Talence, ils sont venus avec la ferme attention d’aller chercher le point défensif, c’est-à-dire limiter la casse et ramener 3 victoires de chez nous.
Ces deux doubles sont donc décisifs dans leur stratégie.
Nos paires, Delphine et Fabien pour le double mixte 1 et, pour une première, Lilian et Yuhan pour le double mixte 2, respectivement contre Verlaine Faulmann/Jordan Corvée et Mélanie Potin/Marin Baumann, n’ont pas laissé l’opportunité à la vaillante équipe de Talence de ramener le moindre point sur ces 2 doubles.
2 à 0 pour l’USEE
Compte-tenu de la blessure de leur joueuse, nous sommes presque assurés d’avoir 4 matchs gagnés à ce moment-là de la partie. Mais dans le sport rien est acquis !
Le simple dame 2 débute et se termine au bout de 4 points joués, remporté par Lauren suite à l’abandon de son adversaire du jour, Louise Prouteau. On savait avant la rencontre que ce match n’allait pas aller au bout. La simple question de l’intérêt de présenter une joueuse blessée sur un terrain se pose. Louise, bon courage pour ta future opération et reviens nous vite !
3 à 0 pour l’USEE
Tanguy commence son match contre Pierrick Cajot, 12ejoueur dans le classement français à l’heure actuel. Les deux joueurs se connaissent bien. Tanguy remporte le 1er set avec beaucoup d’autorité, avec des smashs surpuissants qui firent sa légende lorsqu’il était sur le circuit européen junior. Malheureusement, la régularité de Pierrick et son physique sans failles finissent par épuiser Tanguy même s’il ne lâche pas prise. Cela faisait un certain temps que je n’avais pas vu Tanguy jouer à ce niveau. Pierrick a simplement été plus fort.
L’UST revient à 3 à 1
S’en suit le simple homme 1 match qui voit s’affronter Yuhan et le champion de France en titre, Lucas Claerbout.
Yuhan joue bien et remporte le premier set car plus incisif dans le money time ! Malheureusement, Yuhan est entamé physiquement par le jeu de Lucas qui, comme à son habitude fait beaucoup jouer son adversaire pour planter ses banderilles ensuite. Yuhan laissa passer le 2e set pour récupérer au 3eset. Stratégie non payante car Lucas sait gérer son avantage et finit par remporter ce match.
Bravo messieurs pour le beau spectacle !
USEE 3, UST 2
Comme à son habitude, Lilian laisse quelques miettes à son adversaire du jour, Mélanie Potin, qui revient d’une grave blessure.
4 à 2 pour nous
Vous l’aurez compris, le double dames n’a pas été joué; nous menons 5 à 2, avec la victoire en poche. L’enjeu du dernier match, le double homme, consiste à ne pas laisser Talence revenir avec le point défensif. Grégor et Fabien sont éblouissants par leur combativité et leur envie de bien faire. Cela fait plaisir à voir. Lucas et Jordan ne peuvent rien face à la fougue de nos joueurs.
Nous remportons cette rencontre 6 à 2.

The meeting starts with the two mixed doubles.
It is clear that, given the team of Talence, they came with the firm attention to get the defensive point, that is to say, limit the breakage and bring home 3 victories.
These two doubles are decisive in their strategy. Tanguy starts his match against Pierrick Cajot, 12th player in the French ranking at the moment. Both players know each other well. Tanguy wins the first set with a lot of authority, with overpowering smashes that made his legend when he was on the European junior circuit. Unfortunately, the regularity of Pierrick and his flawless physique end up exhausting Tanguy even if he does not let go. It had been awhile since I had not seen Tanguy play at this level. Pierrick was just stronger.
The UST comes back to 3 to 1
Then follows the Men Single 1 game that sees Yuhan face and the champion of France, Lucas Claerbout. Yuhan plays well and wins the first set because more incisive in the money time! Unfortunately, Yuhan is physically tired by the game of Lucas who, as usual, make his opponent play a lot to plant his banderillas then. Yuhan let the 2nd set pass to recover in the 3rd set. Strategy unsuccessful because Lucas knows how to manage his advantage and ends up winning this match. Bravo gentlemen for the beautiful show!

As usual, Lilian leaves a few crumbs to her opponent of the day, Mélanie Potin, who comes back from a serious injury.
4 to 2 for us
You will understand, the Women was not played; we lead 5 to 2, with the win in hand.
The challenge of the last match, the Men Double, is not to let Talence back with the defensive point.Gregor and Fabien are dazzling by their combativeness and their desire to do well.It’s good to see. Lucas and Jordan can not do anything against the passion of our players.
We win this meeting 6 to 2.
De ce fait, nous nous repositionnons dans ce championnat en milieu de tableau. Mais tout reste à faire.
Notre équipe était belle à voir et je suis très fier d’eux car ils ont su rebondir positivement après une difficile défaite lors de la dernière journée certainement grâce à vous… Le public !!! Merci à vous tous d’être venus les supporter.
Je tiens à remercier l’adjoint au maire en charge du sport d’Écouen et le président de l’USEE d’être passés nous voir et d’avoir profité de cette belle victoire.

I want to thank the deputy mayor in charge of the sport of Ecouen and the president of the USEE for coming to see us and so they benefited from this beautiful victory. Next game against Aix at home Saturday, January 5th.
